During the 30 years we have been working with customer value, thousands of people have engaged with our thinking and become enthusiastic about how much it rings true. Yet in everyday life, the customer is often forgotten. The organization focuses on aspects such as internal efficiency, the division of labor, the structure of the organization, and responsibilities – and ends up ignoring the customer.
By nature, we are inclined to focus more on ourselves rather than the customer. That is why even the best of strategies often lays forgotten on a piece of paper. Awakened enthusiasm and inspiration tend to wane, plans don’t turn into actions and actions don’t turn into results.

The Pillars4CustomerValue concept was born in February 2019 during an afternoon break at work. The aha moment was preceded by 30 years of work in developing customer value. We felt that Pillars4CustomerValue was just the thing to answer the question of how to make the extremely multidimensional entity of customer value clear to the entire organization.

We tested the concept in traditional workshops and it worked. Dozens of professional board members felt that finally they had been given a tool that can help everyone in the business understand value creation. Hundreds of people in different roles found their own role in generating customer value. Hundreds of people realized how their work increases the customer perceived value, the competitive advantage of the company, and the value of the company.

We wanted to bring the Pillars4CustomerValue tool into the everyday use of these companies. We know from experience that even thousands of workshops will not help if everyday life lacks transparent tools. We also know from experience that successful change always requires the commitment of the owners, the board of directors, and the management team. Without commitment, even the best goals will not be achieved.

An idea about a platform and tool was born in which all the Pillars4CustomerValue elements, metrics, tools, and management tools create a transparent stream of customer value. Above all, Pillars4CustomerValue is a management SaaS service for owners, boards of directors, and management teams.
